So I bought some of the sipik sk68s about a year agp. I have always loved Maglites, but after doing much reading here and elsewhere on the net I discovered 18650 based lights. So I was looking for a budget entry 18650 and I found this on Meritline for $13 shipped. From doing some research it appears its based on the Trustfire z1 or z5. This one is unbranded, but it’s a 5 mode. Low, Med, High, SOS, and strobe. It’s nice and bright. I don’t have any fancy gear to measure lumens and still haven’t tested out runtimes yet, but it’s a nice solid flashlight- especially for $13. It runs nice on my xtar 2600 mah protected cells. Here are some photos.
Ok here’s some sucky beam shots. I did not have a tripod or anything to rest the camera on… but I’ll provide the shot data so maybe you can compare it to other lights you have?
Full flood.

^The focused beam on the right is the sipik sk68 with a 14500 trustfire flame for comparison. The lights are zoomed in all the way.

Very nice little budget lights. It was a good buy for sure.
I absolutely love mine, not mind blowing on full zoom due to the small lens and bigger die (compared with the XRE/XPG) but they really do put out a lot of light when on wide.
I still find myself using mine more than anything else at the moment.
Congrats on the purchase and a warm welcome to BLF
I actually got one of those xmas time, knew absolutely nothing about them and for me it was a big negative because of: 1) price: $26 I think, 2) advertised “1600 lumens” (nowhere near) and 3) “scratch resistant/fall resistant” (immediately got scratched up on a small fall and started flickering later — dont drop yours) 4) poor quality present, ended up not giving it as a present. The seller seems to be concerned about my comments and is actually offering me another free light: no wonder since $13 seems to be more the “real” retail price! For $13 and without bogus claims I think its reasonable and I would have a different view on it too
