Hey guys just wanting to show u my work in progress, i got this host from a Great forum member for a small price and
ill be going to be adding more things to this build so it will be updated when more things gets here
First i got this idea from a forum member so i decided ill try it since this project will be heavy, and ill be taking it apart again so ill do somewhat of a review on how i got the handle to stay in place so well ect…….
Actually quite a nicely made part that. The picatinny rail fit is a bit on the tight side on mine, doesn’t fit well on cheap chinese rails, fine on the UTG branded stuff.
Did you have any trouble fitting it to the rail you’re using? Or are you not using a rail at all?
first i went to the hardware store and found the correct tap that the handle used, i then drilled the tailcap in the right spot so it did not puncture the outside of the tailcap
i tried just a M5 screw but would not hold the handle down tight but that was a fail, i then came up with making my own rail to hold the handle and i found a piece of square copper plate that fitted underneath the handle, i then took that piece and tapped it with the same tap and used a large/long set screw and threaded it into the copper and slid my handle over it and used another M5 screw to hold it into place tightly, u can unloosen the M5 screw to move the handle to set as desired
You’re not planning on using the stock reflector right?
Getting rid of that massive chunk of aluminium should help tremendously in making the light more tail heavy, even with plenty of glass up front
