You dirty flashaholics got me hooked on buying lots of flashlights. A side effect of this was I kept finding crazy stuff about E-Cigarettes during my battery searches. I’d smoked heavy for 40 years. I finally did the E-Cig thing buying from Fasttech who you also turned me on to. I’ve been tobacco free since May 2014 and can now RUN up 5 flights of stairs and not be out of breath. You guys ROCK!!!
Until you vent a lithium battery. :Sp
Congratulations!!!! That may be the best side-effect of this addiction that I ever heard of :-)
Nice effort. Just keep it up. Tobacco companies are very clever at what they sell.
Good for you!
BLF is a healthy alternative to smoking.
That is funny stuff! Thanks for the laugh. I do worry about my 30-40 unprotected laptop pulls but so far so good

This is an awesome post, your user name is martini, with a martini in your signature saying “good for you”
For sure! Big Tobacco bought all the crappy BLU cig-a-like companies and stuff like that. That stuff is expensive, comes in like 2 flavors and 2 nicotine levels. That stuff isn’t made to be a good replacement for cigs. The good Fasttech stuff you guys turned me on to is like 1,000 flavors and 8 nicotine levels. It works much better I did E-cigs only for 3 weeks or so, then bought a pack of Marlboro Red 100’s. I tried them and was like “Where’s the smoke? Where’s the flavor?” E-Cigs kinda rock. I do worry about kids starting on them, but they are like 50 times safer than tobacco, and I don’t think that many more kids will start. Dumb people start their anti e-cig argument with “But we don’t know”. That’s a hell of a stupid way to debate something that will save us in the USA billions on just health care and insurance. The drug companies hate E-Cigs also. No more dying people, and people that can’t breathe. Glad I’m one of them
- Joe
You do have to determine what is in the ecig juice and exhaled and effects on the human body, otherwise we end up in the same situation as cigarettes, plausible deniability, if there is benzene or other carcinogens in the juice then it will cause cancer. In the case of the juice the solution is simple, change the formulation (which you can’t do with cigarettes), but unless you know what is in it and what the effects are you cannot improve the product which in this case can at least be improved if needed.
Keep in mind ejuices are not immune to corporate greed and cost cutting as you have already mentioned, how do we know the chinese ones don’t have lead, mercury or other poisons? Many of the no nicotine ones tested have been found to contain nicotine. I’m not saying ban the ecigs (you have mentioned obvious benefits), i am saying don’t give them a free pass, they should be studied just like any other drug and not the laughable FDA approval process of 4-6 weeks with no other testing and a virtually blank cheque.
If they are as safe as claimed they will pass with flying colours and if not then they can hopefully be improved and we are all better off with a safer drug

Well so far from what has been measured there are like 17 carcinogens in E-Cig juice, and about 100 times that many in burning tobacco. But crying “we don’t know” is still used as an argument against E-Cigs. I’m not saying I don’t want full disclosure of all ingredients, but I don’t want dumb fear to stop e-cigs from helping millions of people.

17 is still 17 too many, they should be easily removable, it is a liquid made in a chemical factory
Dumb fear is unnecessary, actual research is simple to conduct, but it costs money, takes time (if it were started years ago, it would be done already) and will save lives. Then again people don’t care that they consume poison until they suffer the consequences so why make things safer, consuming poison to enrich others is obviously reward enough.

I kinda look at it as if we are Consuming Poison to Enrich Others totally now thanks to Big Tobacco. E-Cigs are a wonderful alternative. At least it’s proven to be less than half as horrible to the human body as tobacco. (More like 1/20th or less) If I had a cobra bite me, and someone came to me with an injection of anti-venom. I wouldn’t start asking them for the FDA law that made the anti-venom safe to use.

Again, it can be made safer but the pursuit of maximum profit at any cost justifies selling poison, and unlike cigarettes its easily made safer (or proven safer), but there is no reason to do so.
You should, would you buy an anti venom from the back of someones truck who you met after you were bit by the snake and comes in an unlabelled glass vile? This is why laws had to be made, and the term snake oil was coined.
Same here, been smoking for nearly 10 years. Now looking for E-cig. Considering about wallbuys.
let-there-be-light, I hope you and everyone who have evolved to E-cigs from real cigarettes step beyond that some day.
Hey Let-there-be-Light
Congratulations
Exactly the same happend to me in Jan 2013. I started reading and posting here and somehow i got the idea that it is time to change something about my smoking habit. A few fasttech-orders and four weeks later and i changed from being a heavy smoker to being a 100% Vaper
In a few days i celebrate my second non-smoker-anniversary and round about 20000 non-smoked pyros
Only bad side-effect: now i have two new habits
buying cheap flashlights and expensive vaper-hardware
I have no idea how this relates to BLF but there seems to be some connection if i’m not the only one
So - Thank you BLF
Well done!

Vaping…you are no longer getting massive amounts of Carbon Monoxide or TAR
Don’t believe me…check out the government studies on the 3 MAIN ingredients in cigs!
http://www.econdataus.com/cigra.html
NIC = Nicotine in milligrams per cigarette.
TAR = Total particulate matter in milligrams per cigarette less
nicotine and water.
CO = Carbon monoxide in milligrams per cigarette
Vaping is what brought me here…had to have something to put these “not safe for vaping” batteries into…now my flashlights need better batteries than my vaping gear
<-hmmm…the 20 cigs a day ain’t calculating correctly on the image
