My new TN30 - Ouch!

My new TN30 arrived yesterday. I wasn’t home, so the courier left a card. He had written on it package is damaged.

I rang the depot, and they said I better come take a look myself before accepting delivery. First chance I had today, I drove in to find this. They advised me to refuse delivery, which I did.

I have emailed ThruNite CS about it, and am awaiting a reply. I’m sure they will sort it out ok. But oh, my!

The case on the right is my TN31, which arrived in perfect condition via regular post. The package on the left is the special delivery from the courier service!

The corner was torn. Inside you can see smashed case and compressed foam. I could not open any further without accepting the package.

Looks like a vehicle has drove over it. I would refused the package.

You should get a pristine TN30 with an undamaged case.

Yes, it did indeed look like it had been run over. The courier guy said they probably put a pallet on top of it. Poor little TN30, it deserved much better.

That's a real bugger pretzy. How long did it take for the delivery to get there?

That is not good mate. I have one on the way to the Gold Coast, ordered on the 18/10 still waiting. how long ago did you order yours?
what shipping company did they send with? I selected the free shipping ans still no email to say if it has been shipped. I hope this normal,as I am a bit worried atm.

Two weeks since I ordered. Not bad delivery time.

Typing this on my phone the order date should have been the 28/10

Ordered mine on 1st November

:frowning:

looks like it was played by dogs :open_mouth:

Bum er,sad news.I was gona say the TN30 case is flatter than the TN31.Try and be positive sorta.Looks like yours may just have been flattened even more.Hope all turns out ok,Thrunite seem kewl with stuff.

DON…

Looks like they didn’t use a new good box, that is the problem as old boxes are softer after usage.

This is how they handle packages in China:

I just sent this link to a buddy who deals in corrugated materials at the production/manufacturing level. He stated that the pictures indicate a typical crap double-walled Chinese box thats used for pallet delivery with no “edge crush” rating: in other words, it’s not a box intended for shipping.

Seems to make sense to me.

Hope that my TN30 will be fine, it is shipped via DHL as I just got the tracking number from Thrunite.
TN31 went fine via DHL, that actually make me order TN30 with some confidence.

I’m sure most will ship OK, mine was just unlucky.

A better box may have helped, but looking at the amount of crush damage i doubt it. As the guy at the depot said, “I recon I could stand on that case and not break it” I recon he was right.

It would have taken a lot of force/pressure to crush the case, it really does look like someone ran a truck over it. No amount of careful packaging would save that. It’s hard to see in the pics, but it really was smashed up inside.

I was really curious to know if the light survived, but unfortunately had to leave it at that.

Hope your next one arrives safely.

Cheers mate, thanks for the well wishes

ThruNite can take a while to reply sometimes, but I cannot fault their customer service. I’m sure the next one will be fine.

The best way to develop patience is to practice it.

That video is so hilarious. Makes me wanna watch the whole movie again.

Here’s another one.
