well i was not sure which link was the right one so for a little it ended up a mess with lot of links and no photo, in the end i succeed to post somehow. how did u manage to show correctly? I am still insecure which is the right link, you know just in case for other posts in future
I gotta admit though, that is some seriously styling tape.
12V and 7.2AH in the battery, running two halogens with independant switches?
That is rocking.
If mounted the switches and bulbs different, this thing would look killer.
I love this kind of stuff. Trying to get a sense of scale. If that is a car sized battery, you must be built like Arnold Schwarzenegger in his younger days.
Ejected Filament thank you for detailed explanation and thank you all for nice words!
Alcius well that is my intention, you can be sure on that haha.
Jalben yes its not pretty(it was not my aim) but its functional and very strong.
ImA4Wheelr I am just normal, maybe little bit sportive some year ago but now not too much time for sports and gym. To give an better idea of the dimensions i will post some other photos:
Do not know about weight cant find any data on specifications, maybe its 1 Kg or 2 can’t tell for sure, but I can hold it very easy as you can see. It just happen than i have all this spare parts when I work and have this idea and wanted to try if will work. Well it worked and is still working ( even though its rarely used and for small amount of times, like when powers go on and generators kicks in or just for fun) for like 5 or 6 years. I think how could be done for like 2 min and make it in 15 min The reflector for the small and floody light is just the bottom of an aluminium cans drink:
I make it small and flood on purpose to go soft on battery for extended periods of time in use. Despite the look its more sturdy than what it seems.
Sorry, I didn’t mean that as sarcasm, I actually like the tape! I think the light could use better mounts, but I honestly haven’t seen a tape that looks that cool. Is it reflective?
Thanks for the additional pictures. I think what I like most about it is that you probably built it with minimal money investment and used normal readily available part, it looks quite useful, and most of all, it gets the job done. It shows that someone can get decent portable lighting without having to buy a fancy flashlight.
