Nailbender Drop in to one of these hosts help.

Hi everyone,…

I have a nailbender p60 copper mule drop in Nichia 219a hcri on way, and I’m looking To place it in either an 18650 copper host,…or new solarforce l2d.
something like that.
mostly a home use light.

I would like to ask could the L2D be fitted with a copper bezel rather than the silver one it has and could the lens be changed to maybe a UCL?.

either that or a copper host with a ucl if anyone does.

any idea?, and where from those bits can be sourced maybe?.
Just want to upgrade the light a little.

thanks.

Not sure on your budget but you could maybe look at a cryos or tnc products copper Host. That’s if you are happy to spend a bit.

As for the lens. I recommend THESE ones. I have UCL lenses from flashlightlens.com and whilst they are very good. I don’t believe they are any better than those particular ones from kaidomain. They are so clear without tilting the lens to see the ar coating you would think there is nothing there. I just received another 5 of them because I was soo impressed with the first lot I bought.

International outdoor store has lenses with AR coating, p60 lens size is very common.
uCl is a special thing from flashlightlens.com or so, it’s there name for anti reflective coating.

I’ll second the Kaidomain lenses, they come packaged with a protective film on each side so you can pop the lens in without ever touching it.
The AR coating is excellent as LSX said, I’ve got them in all my Solarforce L2 series lights.

Thanks
I might change the o rings for extra waterproofing.

Any link to these?…
kind thanks.

Ps; by the way, I can’t see any copper bezels for the l2d.
there’s None right ?.

bumpy.
thanks.

I have not seen any copper bezels. A copper bezel doesn’t really make sense to me, so I would be surprised if anybody sold them.

Something you may need to consider (I’m not sure)…

Is the front switch of the L2D a real switch or is it a momentary button? If it’s a momentary button you need to realize that a standard P60 drop in wont operate with it because it’s not a power cut switch, it instead sends a signal to the MCU to change modes.

Again I’m not sure and maybe it is a physical power switch but be careful. Can anyone confirm one way or the other?

I don’t have one, but Solarforce doesn’t sell any e-switch drop-ins. I can’t imagine they would make a host that doesn’t work with their own drop-ins.

It has to be a physical switch.

How would an e-switch “drop-in” even work? they would need some special contact plate or something

by the way, if the 219 mule was in a L2D on its own (no reflector), would it be more floody than say a nichia led in a ledil boom reflector?.
what gives more pure flood?.

the ledil boom would give some throw right too?

thanks
