Edit: I've started another thread where I'll eventually post more information and updates about the firmware.
So I've been working on this firmware for several months now and it's finally in a state where I want to put it up on github. Only, as my username shows, I'm crap at picking names :D That's where I'm hoping all the imaginative people here will come in and offer suggestions to avoid eternal shame.
Just so you have an idea of what must be named, I wrote this to get lower low modes on my astrolux S1 when checking on the kids at night. At its core, it's a reverse clicky ramp. It goes as low as anyone can possibly want (the "stick the light in your eye in a dark room to know if it's on" kind of low), has low voltage protection, thermal control and pretty much nothing else for now. It's FET only but heavily dependent on the actual FET so I don't yet know how it will port to other drivers. Next up on my list is porting it to the attiny25 version of the MTN-17DDm. It has a few flaws as well but I'll keep those for later :)
Since a picture is apparently worth a thousand words, I also made a short video:

I tried to make a video of the thermal control but it ended up showing nothing interesting so it will wait. If anyone has suggestions on how to setup one of those, I'm listening.
It’s 13a but mostly because I haven’t had time to test anything else yet. It should only need a few values tweaked for the different clock speed of the 25. Then I want to use the extra space for a few config options, the ability to record a custom set of modes and a few other goodies.
2 & 3 look like sports car names but I like the other ideas. Could shorten RaSoFe to RaFe too, which I like as well. I’m beginning to think that when naming things I suffer from reverse NIH syndrome. Picking from a list seems to work better.
Two more days for entries I should put this up by monday. Some of you have definitely weird ideas.
