I had a cousin who was hired to invent (design), build different items for the space shuttle program. Many items like that I would imagine.
What i heard was that before the engine MCF, one of the three auxillary power units was commanded off due to low hydraulic fluid, the remaining 2 CAPUs went to 105% to compensate. That was all normal doing as it should to compensate for 1 out.
