Need a 1x18650 headlamp

So other than the Ultrafire UF-H3 and H6 and the Zebralight versions, what’s out there?

It needs to have a runtime of about 2 hours. 100 lumens is enough output. Doesn’t need to waterproof as it will be used indoors only. Needs to have good flood as this will be used as a hands free work light 100% of the time. No throw is required or wanted.

Compact size and light weight with simple UI is more important than anything.

Looking for a no nonsense work light that will have enough runtime for me to do a repair without having to change batteries. The reason I want 18650 is because my 14500 light knocks off after an hour or so and I need at least 2 hours for a normal day.

if you’re looking at the h600 already then look no further…absolutely an amazing headlamp…

+1 pounder, love mine too!

Is it worth $90 for the Zebralight? Can the Ultrafire UF-h6 do pretty much the same stuff for half the price? Price is not an issue but I have had bad luck with ZL so don’t want to buy something that is going to give me problems. I don’t need to push the envelope with this headlamp, just want it to work.

well I have 3 lights from zlt and never had a problem so as far as i’m concerned they’ve been rock solid reliable…don’t have the uf-h6 so can’t comment on it but it looks nice for the price…the uf-h6 is missing the UI of the zlt though which is it’s greatest feature…the ability to start up in .5 lumens or 750 lumens is amazing

The H600 sounds like overkill if you just want 100 lumens for 2 hours. Also, the H600 is not a pure flood work light.

The ZL H502 meets your performance criteria and does it on a single Eneloop AA. If you don't trust ZL, one of the Spark SD series headlamps may be a better option for you.

I have a H31, H600, SC60, SC600 and they have all worked flawlessly.

Also have the UF-H2 and H3 and would probably have bought the H6 if I was looking for a headlamp today, the $56 pricedifference to the H600 would have bought me a Shadow J07…

jeez almost sounds like my collection lol…h31, sc600, h600 and uf-h2…

Yep, two Zebralight fanboys FTW… and the SC52 soon to be released…

The UF-H3 is very floody and not crazy bright like the H6. It would be a great light for your needs and has variable brightness.

What’s a shadow j07?

If some 150lumens is enough, how about this DongRui?

(probably available elsewhere also)
Just strip the aspheric for WIDE FLOOD. Note, that Manafont sold these as XM-L, in reality they are R5 but if it is enough, try it.

Actually I have the AA version and the thing I don’t like about it is it is not floody enough but I never though to just remove the lens. The AA doesn’t have enough runtime but the 18650 would be ok I suspect.

I’m going to order one just to have and see if it works. Will probably still keep looking for another and will likely order the Ultrafire H3 or H6 depending.

Sorry, I meant the Shadow JM07 upgrade version with side clicky…

Consider that the UF-H3 (at least mine) has a blueish/purple tint that I personally dont agree with, some people has replaced the led in them, seems to be a little tricky though…

If you’re affected by PWM, don’t get an UltraFire headlamp. The H6 even uses it on high. The H3 has it too, but luckily not on high, and it’s not nearly as bright anyway, so that’s what I use.

I need to pony up for a Zebralight, sounds much better and worth it.

I use a full flood headlight for work. I used a uf-h3 for a couple years then moved up to the ZL h600FW. The zl has much longer run times and I really like it but I missed the full flood with no hotspot from my old Uf-h3. Zebralight was rumored to come out with a h602 full flood light but I got tired of waiting. I ran across this thread https://budgetlightforum.com/t/-/3782
I decided to make my own perfect headlight. I took my old uf-h3, stuck a DrJones lumodrv driver in it and a bare nichia 219 with no optics. Its now my favorite headlight. The ZL still has longer runtimes, but the light the nichia 219 puts out is the most true to life natual color of any of my other LEDs. DrJones driver is amazing. He’ll configure it to your liking and it has no pwm. I lime his lumodrv UI much better than the ZL UI. It was alot of work, it took me about 5hours to complete but was well worth it. I took pictures along the way and plan on doing my first post soon.

Edit: I got 7 hours and 5 min runtime on my most commonly used Medium mode, so it still has plenty of runtime

Does Zebralight make a 18650 that is pure flood or at least not an intense hotspot? An even flood would be ideal.

They used to have the H60/H60W that were pure flood, but they´ve been discontinued.

Now they have the H600F and H600Fw .

Not really the same as the old ones were reflectorless and the new ones uses a frosted lense…

You can check this link: http://www.lightscastle.com/bikelights/index , it’s the headlight and bike light page ,many collections from lightscastle.

If your still looking for a single 18650 full flood headlight, here a link to my build I just did. I think I made a perfect full flood tasklight, perfect for working on things up close. It took some work but I think it was worth it. It meets all of your criteria. I use it in medium 95% of the time, some jobs take over an hour and it stays on the whole time. I did a runtime test with it on Medium and it lasted just over 7 hours. Best thing is its full flood meaning no hotspot. Everything in my field of view, even out the corner of my eye is lit up evenly, I don’t have to aim a hotspot around. Where ever I need light its already there and my eyes don’t have to adjust to hotspot, no hotspot every time I look around. And the icing on the cake is that its High CRI, so colors pop, and look how their supposed to look.
