Need a decent bike mount

Hello

I need a decent bike mount for a 21700 flashlight, tried the OLight one and its rubbish, the light just bounces around all the time. Tried a generic one from amazon that’s better but still not perfect, will often slip out of place.

Looking for something with a good recommendation that stays firmly in place, and as a bonus makes it easy to remove the light for charging.

Thanks

I liked the one on the Lumintop B01 but no idea where you can find it standalone.

Since you already have a mount and it’s just slippy, try this: line the contact point between it and the bars with a strip of inner tube rubber. I did this on mine and now it only moves if I want it to.

I use the Fenix ALB-10 Bike Mount, it is very sturdy and has the release so you can easily remove the light while keeping the mount in place.
I have two, one on my bike and one on my snow thrower.

Bike Mount

Yes, this one is good:

Yeah I have the Fenix mount but it’s not big enough and also I found it slips easily.

Is that metal clamping on metal? Won’t that scratch the body?

I also have several Fenix mounts and has never slipped on me on a 180mm travel bike going thru fun and fast chunks. I also
have only used 18650 lights. Maybe dust got between the bar and mount or perhaps your bar is in-between the sizes
of the rubber inserts? I have 31.8 bars and use the thin inserts but on my kids bike I have to use the thick inserts.

My handlebars are sloped so maybe I need to put it on the thinnest part of the bar, in any case I can’t find my Fenix mount anywhere. I need something for a 21700 anyway

Will a 25.4mm tube light fit in the Fenix mount? I think it should but not 100% sure

I have been using Fenix ALB-10 for about 3 years now. Build quality is excellent, especially the bottom clam. However, 26650 flashlight will not fit this holder.

Please take noted that the screw cover will crack after 1-2yrs of usage.

Thanks to whoever mentioned inner tube rubber, that has worked a treat with the cheap clamp mount I have!

My favorite bike mount. I have Fenix BC30 and also Fenix helmet mount. Great of that setup is that all mounts have the same base and they are interchangeable. But to fit any 21700 you need to remove lower ruber because it is to thick. You need just replaced it with piеce of inner tube which is thin.
Also this mount is great. It is very sturdy and hold very secured flashlight. Yes it is plastic mount but it is hard chunk which have good strength. Also can fit without problem 26500 light. The downside it is need to unscrew the bolt almost to the end. It is not like quick release. I really like it.

I

This is the one I’m using. It shakes a little too much for my liking but it’s ok. Am tempted to buy another Fenix one but i’m not sure if my light will fit.

For that are you tried to tighten the screw between two pieces of mount? Also I can fit my M21B which tube is about 28mm without any problem on my Fenix mount with removed bottom rubber.

Ok cool I’ve ordered another Fenix one. Knowing my luck I’ll probably find my original one the day after it arrives!

I didn’t want to use larger battery lights to keep it lighter due to bar vibration and just carry spare 18650s. Bar light is an X6 triple led, helmet light a single led.
When I’m riding behind others, I lower the output to both conserve juice and not blind others, only when no one is in front or when bombing down fast descends do I go full output. And rarely need to swap batteries as rides are fairly short, ~15miles/1500’ elevation. In the hydration pack, a thrower that goes about 1000m because we’ve had hikers from other trails blind us with what they think are bright lights. After they get vaporized, we’re friends again…

Not the cheapest, but I use Exposure bike mounts on my MTB and they work very well.

This. fits most single 18650 lights.

I have a Sofirn SP36 and drilled and tapped a hole to screw on an Exposure cleat. It’s very neat, very low profile and very sturdy.

The Fenix mount is good with a bit of inner tube under it, and just about fits my 21700 light. It’s better than the cheap orange and black one that was posted earlier, that one makes a lot of squeaking noises which are kind of annoying.

Using rubbers while bike riding…. what were the odds of accidental reproduction without? :stuck_out_tongue:
