Need a driver for a 2x XM-L U2 mod

I’m looking for a driver for a 2 x xml mod I’m going to try, needs to work with 1 - 2 li-ion so 4 - 8.4 volts

only one I’ve found so far is the manafont 3t6 driver though I’m not sure if that works with 1 battery? or what amps it gives though I think I read it gives around 5amp out which should be fine. Could always be reduced with a resistor change if it’s too high anyway I guess?

Any one know of any other suitable and cheap drivers for this task or if the above will be fine?

Fury,

I used this one from IOS for my Torchlite build and a MT-G2 LED. Even tried it with a single XM-L2. I don’t know if the diameter is fine for your project, but if you purchase it, include a note specifying whether you want a 3-mode or 5-mode.

I have one of those boost/buck drivers from int-outdoor on order. Might use it for several projects since it seems to be quite versatile. It is the best option I know of.

The manafont driver I believe will give give out about 4,5a without resistor mod. Nothing more… Resistor mod will give you more output.
I doubt it will work with only one cell. It is made for the TR-3T6 without extension tube as far as I know. Using 2 batteries only.

2 XML parallel or in Series?

3t6 has 3 XML parallel and about 4.5 A stock current which can easyly increased to 6 A. Also it is regulated. But it don’t work with one cell.

either, can wire them as required for the driver.

think I’m just going to get the 3t6 driver from manafont, it’s just so cheap compared to the other one mentioned and thinking about it I don’t really need it to work with 1 battery anyway and I can always change it later on if I wanted.

There is also a one cell 5A driver out there and a lot of direct drive drivers.
If you can go with the 3t6 driver you won’t regret it, it is a really nice one.

Just curious. Anyone know how the mentioned intl-outdoor driver will work with 2 leds?
Either in series or parallel.

Maybe if you PM Gords 101 he maybe able to help you as he had some dodgy IOS drivers that will apparently only run 2 x LED's with 2 cells.
