The tailcap switch on my TerraLux flashlight is shot. The company gave me all kinds of run around on a replacement, claims they sent one, then said they would send another one, then finally just stopped replying to my emails. So, i have started to look for a replacement on my own. I was hoping these switches might be somewhat standard. Does not seem to be the case, but I expect it will fun hunting one down. Apparently the “Gold Standard” in switches are called “McClicky”. $9 switch as opposed to $2 or so for “common” switches. Trouble is, I have no idea how to tell if one of those, or any of the other switches i have found, will fit. Suggestions/advice appreciated!
Seem to be having trouble with posting pics, bear w ith me plz….
Stop in over here and ask Calvin about any details or whatever--> http://budgetlightforum.com/forum/marketplace/commercial/illuminationsupply
Probably should mention which model it is, too.
Ha! Good point! TerraLux Lightstar 180, for the record.
Well, this problem was solved by my wife, working in the backgound. She heard me grumbling about getting the run-around on a replacement from the maker, so she emailed them herself a few days ago, and a new tailcap was here in the mail today. Nice surprise! Next up is a Fenix E20 that has to go in for repair. Before that, a couple Princeton Tecs were replaced by the factory. Its always something!
