Need a uv and a work light

Hey guys.

Was browsing copper d4v2 and saw it had uv option.

Are there any non-gimmicky single emitter uv options?

I remember there being some controversy about the LG emitter due to some patent troll so we cant get the good uv light anymore or something?? Would love something copper. I also have a copper s2+ I wouldn’t mind modded with the superior UV option if anyone here does that.

Secondly, looking for a work light. Something like the harbor frieght braun COB but not so crappy. (Battery cap thread strips easily…otherwise it’s great)

My Olight s2rb2cu is decent with the magnet. Don’t like the 6000k tint though. But love the life and USB charging and how small it is.

Acebeam pt40 kinda sucks…magnet sucks…very very limited field of view/beam pattern. Tint is nice though. More of a cool looking light than functional.

Ylp panda 3.0r is great but messes up my hair.

Looking for a good work light if anyone has some suggestions.

UV S2+ (black body), S2+ host of your choice (I used a purple one, for obvious reasons), and 20mm ZWB2 filter. Done.

10min to swap pills and front glass.

Can’t get any better’n’at.

There’s also the Sofirn SP31UV which is a hella throwy UV light, but leaked VIS is a rather annoying greenish-white, so for that you really really NEED a ZWB2 filter, but it needs a slightly smaller one, like 19.5mm, just enough that you’d have to sand/grind a 20mm filter to get it to fit.

Oh yeh, dunno any of the other work-lights you mentioned, so can’t advise on that.

I bought this Alonefire on Amazon and I like it. Cost around $30.

Came with 21700, built in usb-c charging, uv glasses. It has the filter already in. Power button is on side and lights up green when light is on (presumably so you can see it’s on without looking INTO the uv) O-ring between filter and bezel glows, not sure if there’s a reason for that or if it’s just because they can.

If you want cheaper/smaller, I bought a long skinny purple one from O’Reilly auto parts. 3xaaa, no filter, no glasses. Was on sale for like $6.

Tailswitch is pretty deeply recessed, I found it hard to operate with one hand because I couldn’t hold it tight enough while positioning my thumb to get that switch pressed. It did serve to fill the gap while I waited for the Alonefire to get to me.

About the UV light. The patent troll is not targetting LG emitters, but he’s targetting Simon (Convoy). That troll claims to have “patented” the light from a (eg. any) 365nm UV emitter that goes through a ZWB2 filter. For some reason that patent is granted, though UV-light and the filter are known for ages.
(BTW. I think of having a quicksand rescuing device patented: a rubber glove. With that glove on I can drag myself out of the quicksand by the hairs on my head).

Advice: buy yourself a nice UV light from Simon, and order a separate ZWB2 filter. Swap the clear glass lens in front of the emitter with the ZWB2 filter and presto: best bang-for-the-buck UV-light. Be sure to ask Simon about the BLF-discount.

About the working light. I recently got a Wurkkos HD15. Order it with 18650 AND 18350 tube (body) and make sure to order the magnetic tailcap as well. Now you have enough to fulfill every need by swapping some parts. The HD15 has TWO emitters: one for throw (good for walking) and one for flood (nice when crawling in confined spaces) but you also can use them together.

Malkoff has one but the price is $$$.
contemplating S2 or MD2 UV.
