Need a workshop flashlight

Currently use a snap on light which pulls out like this http://espimages.biz/2386/I/391/152/snap-on_45646.jpg

It kinda broke, but is great has a magnet , bright but takes 4 AAA.

Was wondering what you guys use when working on cars etc, would love a budget option that is rechargeable.

Already have head torches, the snap on type is handy when working under the bonnet (Hood) or under the car you can clamp it to a metal part and away you go.

I have acouple of Energizer Hardcase Pro 4AA Torch that i got from halfords awhile back no magnet, mostly use my nitecore headstrap with Fenix PD35 on medium, plenty of light in the direction i am looking.

asked my step father who has worked in garages for 40 odd years and and he said get http://www.amazon.co.uk/Kingavon-BB-RT336-24-LED-Work-Light/dp/B005EXLNMM had to lookin his tool chest to find the model and to sodoff as it 04:30, i lost track of time opps

I use a 50 watt flood mounted on a roll around pole.

I carry a Solarforce L2 on me all the time at work. Forward switch, two modes; H & M.

It’s great for inspections, & the medium mode is good for using on reflective surfaces where the high mode will just blind you.

I also have a couple of ‘SK98’ zoomies that I use in flood mode only, for jobs such as water pumps, timing belts, or anything really, where you need a good spread of light in a fairly tight space.

All my lights have strong neodymium magnets shrink-wrapped to the body, so they can be affixed to something.

Here’s my L2, with the neo magnet mod.

Those pictures were taken about 18 months ago, & since then it has had another ‘road trip’, & looks considerably worse for wear!

Thanks for all your replies. I think a combination of lights are needed. The headlight are great but can get uncomfortable over long periods or if under a car.

Thanks Wolf for the link and if you meant you went out 4.30 in the morning to check them fair shout mate.

I’m leaning towards FMC suggestion as this way I can pick any light and strap some neomags to it. Thanks for the suggestion and good to see your light is well travelled lol
