After fighting FastTech about a DOA Manker T01, a friend of mine got no where. He still wanted the light, so he ended up ordering from elsewhere to get it. He never did get anything resolved with FastTech. Fast forward 6 months - he’s thinking about modding the dead T01 by replacing the driver. He believes the light was destined to be more than just an expensive paperweight.
He doesn’t really have any modding experience, and mine is limited to non e-switch lights. So, I went ahead and disassembled the light already, removing the pill, emitter and driver/switch assembly.

I’m fairly certain that the driver is what’s shot on this light. When you would put a battery in, it would flash about 4 times, then turn off. This would happen every time. With that said, I’m looking at a driver swap and a rewiring of the old switch.
Which brings me to my questions:
- Is there a way to test the e-switch to ensure it’s working properly
- In the picture above, there are two legs exposed which protrude from the back of the vertical switch board. I’m assuming that they are + and gnd legs that I can solder to. I’m hoping to confirm this.
My plan, at least in theory, is to remove the existing switch and epoxy it onto the new driver (which is TBD) and use the exposed legs to wire it to the board.
Thoughts? Critiques? Suggestions?
