Not too long ago I bought a Skyray with 3 Cree XM-L T6 emitters (rated) at 3800 Lumens. Last week it rolled off a table and the light went out. I took it apart but can’t see anything wrong with it. It appears to be a problem in the circuit board but I don’t think i can fix it and was wondering if and where I could buy a new driver for this flashlight.
I did read about being able to up grade to a bigger driver.(higher Wattage?) I use to tinker with electronics years ago but flashlights didn’t come with circuit boards back then. It looks straight foward as to changing the driver but I need help finding the right replacement driver. Thanks…. Steve.
Welcome to BLF! I can't recommend one but I will give you a free bump!
We're glad that you joined, Sea Ranger!

Once you make it through the “welcome” posts, you should get an answer. Oh, and welcome to the forum.
http://www.kaidomain.com/product/details.S020121 - this’ll do
Or, if you want 5 modes, this: http://www.kaidomain.com/product/details.S020121
Thanks for the info Shadowww. I don’t see any difference from one driver to the other. Is there a driver out there with a bigger wattage or should I stay with one of the drivers you posted? I really appreciate the help, with out any feedback my light would never get fixed…… Steve.
Oops, I accidentally posted same link twice. Here’s the correct link to 5-mode one: http://www.kaidomain.com/product/details.S020077
Higher wattage would not be recommended for 3x XM-L’s, 30W (10W/LED) pretty much maxes them out.
Wow, that was fast…lol. I think I will order the 3 mode one… less to go wrong. Once it come in I will let you know if I have a problem installing it…. thanks again.

3-mode indeed is better for most users, 2500-lumen strobe is NOT something you’d want to see ![]()
I’m also waiting on a 8000 lumen with 7 emitters that is almost the same size as the 3 emitter flashlight.
While you’re waiting you might check all of the solder connections, board, switch, etc.
I took the old driver out and looked it over with a magnifying glass and wiggled wires and all seems tight with no problems. The new driver is on order but might take 3 or 4 weeks to get it. I’m not really sure whats wrong with my light but not much else inside that can go wrong. I also took apart the on off button and checked to make sure the clicker was working and it is. I’ll just have to wait till the new driver gets here and see I guess…… Steve
