For those who are interested in the convoy H1 but don’t like the original UI. Just want to share that the Convoy H1 I ordered from gearbest last 6 July arrived and it has the new UI which is much better than the previous (hold to off). Another user on reddit also reported that the H1 he got has this new UI.
Click on/click off
From off
Click to memorized mode
Long press to low
Double press to turbo
From on
Hold to change mode
(No double press to turbo from on)
I actually ordered this on sale since I have an extra mcu with ramping UI from gchart but now I think I don’t have to replace it.
Update: Tried measuring runtime on highest mode (~780 lumens in my DIY shoebox). After around 15 mins I checked and output did not drop and the light was scalding hot so I stopped measuring. So, mine has still no thermal regulation :smiling_imp:. I have to point out though that u/wolframazer in reddit said he tested this and he said its only warm (around 50 degrees according to him) after 15 mins. He bought his H1 later than mine so this could have been fixed in later runs. Maybe ask Simon before buying.

Wait, no doubleclick to turbo from on?

Unfortunately no. Double click from on does nothing not even turning it off then on.

If you hold the button when the light is on, does it cycle upward from the current mode, or does it jump to low and cycle upward from there?

It cycles upward to the next mode. Lowest and Highest (Turbo) is included in the cycle.

Ah, yes, the obvious down side to “short click for OFF”…
