New drop-in for WF504B or new flashlight?

Hi all,

I got an UltraFire WF504B for my dad ages ago from DD. I charged up the 18650 battery for it but I noticed it isn’t really putting out much light at all anymore - it is really dim . I tried the battery in my L2P (with Manafont Ultrafire Cree T6 3-Mode drop-in) but it is as bright as anything in there, so it isn’t the battery.

Is there anything else I can try or is it time for a new light? Or perhaps just replacing the drop-in? I’m a bit stumped since it hasn’t seen much use!

Well the only things it could be is the switch going bad or the drop-in going bad. try the manafont drop-in in the 504b to see what happens.

Cheers, tried the WF504B drop-in in my L2P and it worked fine so it is the switch. Any recommendations for a decent P60 host switch anyone?

Take it apart, clean it and it would work fine.

My old 504 have a nice Omten clicky (bought the 504 a long time ago - I think 2007-2008).

Sorry for asking the obvious, but how would you get the switch out of the tailcap and what would you use to clean it? It doesn’t look like it will come out too easily and I can’t find anything on the forum regarding this.

Should be held in with just a threaded ring on the inside(battery side). Unscrew this with sharp needle nose pliers or good strong tweezers by twisting with the points in the 2 ring dimples.
