Received mine today. My favorite AAA, over the Tank007 EO9 and the Thrunite Ti3. Of course I like a lot of modes and this one has 10, ha! Nice magnetic tail. Clip is weak however. I got the cool white. Will also order a Nichia. A fun little light! Have to also order a 10440 for some more fun.
Please could you share more photos of it? Head, threads, tail, all parts unscrewed.
Could you explain why you like the Eagtac D25 over the Ti3? It is just because of the many modes?
Thanks
What about runtimes? Price? Lumens!? Don’t leave us in the dark
The Ti3 is really nice. They have the same output. The moonlight on the Ti3 is nice. But yes, I like modes. The magnetic tailcap is a nice feature too. The EagleTac is smoother in changing modes. All 3 of the ones I mentioned are top of the line in my opinion.
Humpf, I expected the clip to be the nicer type. If you don’t mind me asking, what exactly you don’t like about it? (the clip that is)
It’s a nice clip, just no tension. It has already pulled away from the body of the light, sort of useless. I’m not a clip person and this one doesn’t appear to be removable unfortunately. Awesome light however!
I just received mine. My initial impressions of the light were poor. The clip was embarrassing. It came out of the box pulled away from the light, by about 2-3mm. I immediately tried to remove the tailcap so I could fix it, but the cap is thread-locked.
Bah! Soo…
I wrapped the whole light in rubber hose, and used two sets of pliers to forcibly un-screw the tailcap. I cleaned out all the thread lock glue. I removed the clip, straightened it out nicely, then heated it with a torch until it changed rainbow colors - which seems to have stiffened it up quite a bit…
I also cleaned the contacts with deoxit-gold.
NOW I really like the light! Still wish the clip were a tad stronger…
EDIT: I should also mention - NO PWM and the beam is very nice.
Thanks for the response saypat!!! And thanks to netprince for the report. I expected the clip to be one of the strong points on this light, I had the expectation it would be hard to mess a clip like that. Also good to hear that there is not PWM.
Shame they seem to have missed the mark on some fairly fundamental points though.
A non removable clip?? That sounds like poor design, or some fault found in R&D late in the day and bodged solution.
Still wish it had a lower low. AAA lights are the type of lights you want sub-lumen firefly modes. Not 4x18650 lights!!!
Now if it would only come in Titanium.
