New from NC

Hey everyone, my name’s Chase, i live in NC and i’m new here i you couldn’t tell. I own a few flashlights, nothing major. A Sipik clone from Amazon, a couple shelved 2d Maglites, and a 2aa mini mag that hasn’t had a bulb in over a year. I just discovered that I needed/wanted more than what I have currently, and figured this would be a good place to do some learning.

Howdy…watch your wallet!

Welcome to BLF! You will find yourself wanting/needing MANY more flashlights in the future…

Oh, i know, i’m looking for a new edc to replace the sipik clone, and i’ve been burning my brain for about a week now trying to find exactly what i need that also does everything i want. After i get this edc taken care of, i’m going to get something big for the house/road trips.

Welcome and hope you got deep pockets haha.

Welcome to BLF. once you see what many of us do and have you will definitely want more lights. 8)

Please enjoy your time here, haliwa04!

Howdy and Welcome to Break your budget Light Forum.

Yes, you’ll learn to live off a very light budget… :Sp

I think rice is the cheapest.

Welcome…

Welcome, we'll be glad to help you find just what you want very economically.

Then make you want a lot more.

And more.

And more.

And more.

Thanks for the warm welcome. I just ordered an l2 kit from solarforce sales and had to restrain myself from going full retard and getting the special model and $100 worth of batteries and chargers. Now, I’m searching for gitd o rings, tailcap buttons and other parts that will fit, but turning up with empty shopping carts. I can’t find the dimensions to make sure they fit. Anyone have the measurements I need?

Welcome and hang on to those Maglites. After reading more here you might rediscover them and the many mods and parts available. Get yourself a digital micrometer, a decent soldering station, and a good magnifying lamp and join the fun.

You can go full retard in small unnoticeable steps.
It will feel normal here.

The Solarforce l2 takes a 16mm tailcap boot. What orings do you want to replace?

I’d like to swap out both the tailcap and the bezel(???) o rings for gitd pieces, that’s if they would be visible. If not, then i can scrap that idea. I’d also like to dremel out some divots around the outside of the bezel and mix up some gitd powder and epoxy and fill in said divots.

I believe the bezel oring is 27mm. It ought to be at least partially visible. You can get both tailcap boot and orings at
