Old-Lumens: Found this post and it’s gold! I know it was posted 10 years ago but hope this finds you. I have this light and love it dearly. It stopped working several years ago but can bear to part with it. The driver section is frozen and I can get to it. It’s just needs the neg and ground wires replaced but can get to them. Have tried penetrating oil but no luck. I know there’s plenty of better lights out the now, but I’m attached to this one. Can you advise? Thanks.

I used to own 2 variants of this light; they were great lights back in the day. I don’t have a copy with me now, so all I can offer is generic advice for loosening retaining rings: in addition to penetrating oil, thermal shock (alternating freezer and, say, candle flame or soldering iron) has helped me open many stuck retaining rings.
