And both have this yellow-ish tint to them. It’s not terrible, but I already have a 3C tint emitter that I like in that light.
Is this normal? Is there a way to get rid of it? I’ve done some googling and some suggest to leave them in direct sun light for a while
AR coatings can absolutely affect the tint of a beam, that’s why you don’t want to use them in high CRI lights. It can drop the CRI and tint shift the beam.
If you are going for max output they are a must, but they are not all equal. Flashlightlens.com has some really nice ones that don’t seem to affect the tint too much, and they are very clear, almost invisible if you’re looking straight at the lens and it’s clean.
It reflects purple/blue-ish, but transmits yellow. IOW, light that goes perpendicular to the lens looks yellow-ish (this affects the beam’s tint), while light that goes transversal to the lens looks blue-ish (this produces a blue halo around the beam).
