New light stuck in SOS mode?

Hi,

After reading a lot on this forum I bought an ultrafire c8 Cree xm-l u3 5 mode flashlight from lightmalls.

Received it today and am not sure if I don’t know how to use it or it is defective. When I press it on it goes on SOS mode. When I press it again it turns off. I can’t get it to just stay on like a normal flashlight.

Any advice would be great!

Oh, and I am using them with Sanyo ur18650FM’s from fasttech if that makes a difference.

Hi,

If it’s on the SOS mode, then you half-press the tailcap switch, does it change modes?

Is the battery charged all the way? It could be you are getting a low battery warning.
