Here is my new mag headed work light. It was a harbor freight incandescent before. But it broke. The head rotates and pivots. It has an MC-E wired parallel driven by a 1amp cell phone charger. I used a Bimba cylinder mount for a pill. I cut 2 pieces of magazine bodies threaded end and used them to locate and lock the pill into place.
That’s awesome. Makes me want to try the same thing with a couple of old mags I have laying around. Thanks for posting.
Wow, looks neat! Thanks for sharing!
That lamp is awesome; it looks like something Mag should have offered for sale.
very cool.
SWEET!
that’s great!
I took a foot long section of brass flexible gas line and mounted a harbor freight magnet on one end and a spring loaded clamp (for holding a flashlight) on the other.
while it works, people look at it and go, WTH is that?
yours looks like a manufactured product! nice job
oh yea!
Only tools needed for this one was soldering iron and a hack saw. It turned out nicer than I was hoping for. If I did it again I ghoul I could use snap rings instead often cut off mag pieces I used to locate the pill.
i did the same thing few months back, but i made it to stand up with a lil shade on top
Very nice, that is awesome!
Neat idea! That would be good for anyone that had battery tube damage.
Thats exactly where I got it batteries were totally stuck and melted in place. So I saved the head. The reflector is one I stippled ? with clear coats and the lens is kinda all scratched up but it makes for a really smoooth beam. There is not hot spot.
I have a spare pice that I made the pill out of if someone would like to do something similar. If I had more heads I thought about making a pair and hang them like manly pendant lights.
Dual heads would be cool .
I like the magnet base .... gives new meaning to the word Mag lite
Looks awesome millerman. Maybe Maglite should consider going into the lamp business.
Yeah, I would think make a nice LED Flood light for machine shop guys, aren’t those halogen’s like $100 a pop or something ?
Very nice millerman. I hope the bimba cylinder was an old one. We use lots of these little pneumatic cylinders at work but i never thought of a light mount.
