Looks great but I highly doubt we get a BLF price on this, since they say only 1,000 units each color will be produced, but I guess a black bezel version will release later. The EC4 was one of the few lights with full flat regulation at turbo, if the price is right I might get one of these…
I own the Nitecore EC4S and the EC4SW. They are among my favorite flashlights, especially liking the warm tint of the EC4SW.
I like the convenient size & ergonomics. The double 18650 is plenty of runtime without being too bulky/heavy. It has power, but not so much that heat becomes an instant problem. IMO, an extremely practical flashlight. I’m glad to see Nitecore develop more options for it.
Yeah the colors are my issue too. I also really like my EC4Sw, although I feel like it could’ve done lot more on turbo. I would be interested in a thrower of that format, plus I have a weakness for limited edition stuff, but those colors just aren’t great choices.
I have the black version, is absolutely nice. A matter of taste, personally I prefer all black.
The anodisation is a lot smoother than EA45S, another matter of taste
The spot is a lot more focused than EA45S, at least 15000 cd difference how the manufacturer said (but i think is more).
Ah yes. Forgot about our ever helpful German counterpart.
Thanks, Octavian.
Wonder why Nitecore still hasn’t figured out how or hasn’t felt the need to reduce it further down to only 2 digits…
It is strange…because from what I read on other forums, to EA45S drain current is only 90 microAmps…so two digits
I don’t know why they didn’t succeed also to EC4 to make some decent current drain.
By the way, one more thing which I like a lot to EC4GT comparing with EA45S, there is no step down ! Max level to the end.
To EA45S the “ATR” Nitecore system intervenes to early…the light is not so warm (jut a little) and quickly steps down. EC4GT get warm (but not to warm) and maintain full power (I let it on turbo app 20 minutes, no step down, EA45S after 5-7 minutes it steps down to a app 650-700 lumens)
