This was is my first purchase of a high powered light. Being new, I was looking at LUMENS! Boys and girls, I got lumens. The amount of light that comes out of that thing is incredible to the new eye on lights. My experience is limited, though, and I was actually looking for a weapon’s light for an AR15 project. It does serve many of the roles I was looking for, but some of the features I needed were not met as well as I wanted. I could not ask much more for a search light. Also, I have a host of Streamlights and Surefires. Non of them come close to the output on the M31.
It seems to have an excellent throw, nice flood and literally make fish jump out of the water at night :bigsmile:
As far of the controls, it does not have the attributes I needed. Although perfect for two handed use, using the clicky or the pad does not allow me to transition from h/m/l/strobe as I need it to. Don’t get me wrong, I love the M31. It simply does not work as I thought it would on my gun.
First, I’d like your own personal opinion of the light.
Second, if you would, make a suggestion of a weapons light. If found a two headed bike lamp (suggested by another member from TX), and it seems to fit the bill. One light on, the other strobes so the shooter sees a clear picture of a target. Also, controls on the tail with switch work. Any other ideas for a weapon light would appreciated!
