There are so many variants of XML lights out there now my heads spins in trying to decide which is a good one. Is it simply a matter now of cosmetics? They're all the same, just pick the one you like the look of the most?? So confusing....
I think that the diameter of the reflector attributes much more to the throwing capabilities of a light rather than the depth.
This diameter is 45mm. For a dedicated thrower you’ll wanna be looking at upwards of 55mm (The bigger the better, take a look at the 13 inch [330mm] HID, it has 3.5million lux).
I just looked at the dimensions of the prairie fire: Dimensions: 9.76 in x 2.56 in x 2.56 in (24.8 cm x 6.5 cm x 6.5 cm)
which is the first one.
The STL V2/6 mentioned on DX appears to have a smaller head: Dimensions: 9.45 in x 2.40 in x 2.40 in (24.0 cm x 6.1 cm x 6.1 cm)
Now I just want to know which one is driven harder, and is the prairiefire reflector really bigger? or is the bezel just thicker than the STL V2/6?
