I figured it out. Because they are taking pre-orders, the site is currently partitioning the preorder value from the currently available value. You will either have to buy $100 worth or either preorder or $100 of existing stock, but not a combination of the two.
Sorry for the late reply. From October 1st to 8th we were on our National Day holiday, and today we just came back to the office. All orders placed on our official store XTARDirect and shipped to the United States are tax-inclusive. Customers in the U.S. don’t need to pay additional customs fees upon delivery.
Upon first charge, 7 out of 8 cells showed 4 dots, with the last cell showing 2/4 “charging”. So, just to test, I removed the lid and put it back on, and all the cells have been at 1 dot for a little over 5 minutes now. Is that normal?
Charging termination of NiMH batteries is difficult. Basically you have to observe the behavior of the individual batteries. It works best if the battery was at least partially discharged. When almost or fully charged, the chemistry often doesn’t show effects like a small voltage drop that is used to determine that the battery is full. So detection of fully charged batteries is especially useful. That’s why I always discharge batteries of unknown state for a little bit before charging them.
