New Solarforce L2D! Its pretty!

WANT.

Quite a looker with nifty side button for $30! The bezel looks a bit like the surefire fury :

It does look good.

The deep reflector is not my thing though. I prefer wide spill light. I have a feeling someone will order this quite soon. :)

Im looking forward to a review.

Nice, but 30$?….perhaps 20-25$ is ok, for one body flashlight.

Solarforce in general with the P60 system is a Surefire inspired thing.

If we go into taste... I actually don`t like the head of it.
I like the L2T`s head a lot better.

$30 for a small host alone can be a bit expensive. Full HD2010 flashlight only cost $30+.

I think the looks are deceptive, it’s just another P60 host. It looks a good one though.

I find it rather weird looking; for a solar force light it just doesn’t fit imo.

It's their new look, like the S2200, head and switch section of the flashlight, or course not identical, but in the same look.

You seem to be right. I just judged it by it looks. I did not check any info on it..

Seems like it uses regular P60 drop-ins. Id guess the switch is just a regular one on the side then.

interesting the broad range of opinions we have here

I too agree that it is “different” looking for sure - I love the classic L2 and L2t/p look and feel - but this one has spiked my curiosity.

Yes $30 is a little pricey - I agree… thats supposed to be a promo!? too… retail is $40? (probably just a marketing thing)

I am going to think about ordering one for a few days - I love solarforce

Interesting design. If it’s made as well at the L2P L2T models then the cost is very reasonable for the quality. Since it’s P60 compatible I’ll guess that the bezel and tailcap will fit any other L2 model. If so the D tailcap would make a very trim twisty. The bezel is so different looking it really doesn’t fit the previous models but a matching L2 or 2P bezel would look good on the 2D.

One other thought. Looking at the pics and comparing model specs, is the body switch assembly removable? The stock 2L models are 140 mm long, the 2D is 148 mm. I’m curious to read once some members get a few if someone can determine if the switch is removable.

I'd have to assume it's a mechanical switch, since they are saying it takes standard pills. Looks like they made the switch lower positioned so not to interfere much with a wrapping.

Similar to my XP-11 from WB, mod'ed of course: about $24 total part/light for about 1,100 lumens in a small side switch, nice quality pocket light, with a great UI. This L2D will be longer though, but higher quality body for sure, plus with interchangeable pills.

If you’re only going to keep it for a few days, feel free to send it my way when you’re finished with it.

I really like side clicky lights, so I’m ordering one of these.
Can anyone point me toward a neutral/warm emitter drop in for single cell use with a bright, very floody output?

sure someone here can make ya one cheap otherwise http://intl-outdoor.com/xml2-p60-dropin-module-alxm2-p-740.html

Thanks! That’s exactly what I want.

T4 5B1 will not be so bright as the rest but warmer than the rest with better CRI, you may want to try that.

LOL

Im going to order one

My solarforce collection is growing nicely
