Sounds like a perfect replacement for the E09 which was attached to my keys when I lost it (and the keys) last week. Which is how most of my AAA lights disappear. Once CNYH is over one of those sounds good to keep my (new) keys company. Most good AAA lights I've had have been lost in the same park/swamp. With my keys attached to them.
olight i2 has a pocket clip, and is as small as the tank007.
the 3-mode E19 has a low of 10 lumens says the aliexpress data, a tad too high for a low mode perhaps?
If the high mode claim of 180 lumens is somewhat true, that’s brighter than the olight. i like my e09, but i don’t think i’ll buy another 1xAA flashlight in a while
To be fair to them, not entirely. The problem is the big gloves required and when I take one off to grab a bag to pick up their leavings I tend to stuff it in my pocket. The pocket that the house key is usually in. I imagine I lost it when I pulled the glove back out to put it on.
In a very muddy park. I lost a house key with an ITP A3 on it that way a couple of years ago. In the same park.
This post made me think of what I did yesterday. When I got some Tanks007 E09’s early last summer I put a Trit in one and put it on my keychain. Put another on my spouse’s keychain. Left the third in the tin. That’s the one I grabbed a couple of weeks ago when I was doing something, then noticed I tended to carry it in my pocket and use it a fair bit. Realizing I had not used the Tank on my keychain even once, I finally removed it and now carry it in my pocket. I asked my spouse, and she confirmed she had never used hers either.
I assume there are tons of BLF members that have a light on their keychain, and it made me wonder if it is common to never use your keychain light, or if I’m simply an oddball case in that regard. Good topic for a Poll perhaps?
My keychain lights (Trustfire Mini2 TLF edition on the car key, Photon ReX on the work keys, fauxton on the house key till I get another AAA light) get used more than any of the others as they are what is with me. I usually have others in my bag, but the keychain ones are what is in my hands when I need light.
I keep a Tank007 E09 on my keys, I have it on an s-biner so that I can quickly detach it. I don’t use it nearly as much as my Microstream which is in my left pocket, but I do like knowing that even if my Microstream falls out of my pocket, which has happened, that I have a good light on my keys.
My girlfriend recently misplaced her Thrunite Ti2 that lived on her keys, but luckily she also has a Microstream as backup. She used the Thrunite all the time though. I guess I will have to get a replacement soon.
I have a Romisen RC29 that started life as a zoomie. It now has a McGizmo reflector and is running 3A through an XP-G2 for 528 OTF lumens @ 30 sec. And it lasts far more than a minute. About 12-15 without taking the cell too far down.
I never use the light on my keychain. Like you I carry a Tank007 E09 in my pant’s pocket and either a Tank009 tk566 or Convoy S2 in my jacket’s pocket (in San Francisco I almost always have a jacket). It’s just more convenient to pull a light out of a pocket than use the one on my keychain.
