DX have the PA02 already, Osram NW LED looks quite warm.

UV31 with 365nm LED (or 395nm):

I ordered a PA02 from EBay last week. Mine is a single mode one. Manafont also has a single and a 3 mode version.

I hope to be able to have it in my hands next week. I’ll share my findings.

i like that 2aa light

might have to order one!

Why Osram?

Wonder what the LED is like. So many variants:

And I wonder what that mystery 'USA uv-led' is? No pictures of the led anywhere. Well, the light is way too expensive anyway (300+ dollars) .

yeah, i am about to order one just to see what this osram led is actually like

here is the data sheet

Will be interested to hear your thoughts on it. There are four types of LUW in the datasheet:

W5AM-LXLY-6P7R, 6000K
W5AM-KZLY-6P7R, 6000K
W5AM-KZLY-4C8E, 6500K
W5AM-KZLY-5F8G, 5700K

I sent Tank007 an email; hopefully they can say which kind they use.

I’m trying to remember now, will that wavelength of 365nm cure the UV Glue, or does it have to be around 110nm lower than that?

Osram makes very good leds, and so does Philips. But their footprint is different from Cree, so they are no ready swap. Also Osram and Luxeon leds are not widely available (Fasttech has some Osram leds, but I'm still waiting for a supplier carrying the Luxeon T, and the right Sinkpad for it).

The chinese market will not change easily, because: 'Cree' sells.

Mine came today. Throwier than XPE, Hugsby Xp2, and better built as a light. Not brighter, but throwier. Mine is single mode.

365nm is recommended by Norland for their optical adhesive, the Norland 61 that’s commonly used for trit installation.

I hear sunlight works well and is a lot cheaper! :crown:

But if you’re filling in layers, drying each layer before moving on….sunlight might take days to complete. And it’s difficult to keep bugs out of your clear optical adhesive outside. Or dust. Or the cat. A light like this takes literally a few seconds to a couple of minutes, cured. If you’re doing a lot of fill, or several projects, it can be quite time consuming.

I have seen a light with over 70 trits. dlmorgans Jeff Hanko The link takes you to the other realm, enter at your own peril.

Oh yeah, I should warn you, be prepared to drool on yourself if you take a look at this one.

Thanks for that, I will get one then.

You’re right, that light with the trit’s is pretty amazing to look at, it’s georgeous.

From Norland, a battery operated portable curing device utilizing an LED at 365nm will run ya a cool $1695. They have a wide range of curing lights, all expensive.

Sorry Chloe. I recently got a Tank 007 E06 from Lightscastle. I figured it looked good enough to try out. Nicely built, metal on/off button, I like it! It’s using an SSC emitter, a bit cool but that’s ok, I’ll put a filter behind the lens and make it white or a bit warm white.

I’ve gone a little silly on the Tank007 eBay store - thanks a bunch, Chloe. Some bargains to be picked up on their auctions - I now have 3 PA02’s on the way, a couple of TK568’s and a grey E09. Total cost £18. Well, Christmas is coming, so some people are going to get lights.

Thanks, Woody! I did not even know Tank007 had an Ebay store. Their 365nm UV lights are still quite costly though.

Wow! I see what you mean.

All their “Buy Now/Best Offer” prices are high, but the auctions go pretty cheaply, just unfortunate that there are no UV lights available on auction at the moment.

3 E09 (black, grey and pink) + PA01 for £12…
