new ThorFire light TK18 with ramping!

Howdy. Just received a new ThorFire light for review, the TK18. It is an 18650 light, with XP-L2 emitter, stainless steel bezel, decent clip …. the usual stuff. What is different on this offering is the unique UI. The light has a tailcap switch to turn the light on/off. While on, the side switch has 2 modes. The normal mode is ramping! Hold the switch to ramp up or down. Ramping is too slow in my opinion. Perhaps they can address this. The other mode is accessed by pressing the side switch quickly 4 times while the light is on. From there you can step thru low, med, high, and turbo with a button press. Low is 3 lumens, med is 100, high is 500, and turbo is 1200. Triple click anytime to get to the popular bike strobe mode (500 lumens). Light has memory, thermal timed step-down, battery indicator, and low voltage protection. Thank you Thorfire for the innovation. Perhaps other manufacturers that haven’t already will follow suit. The light is a tad long at 5.2 inches. I like the TK18. Only drawback is the slowness of the ramping in my opinion.

The TK18 is available thru Amazon with a 20% discount code:

Thank you Miranda for the opportunity to review another great light from Thorfire.

……will add a video soon to show ramping

video is up. from the moment you see the beam you can count until you see the flash (I think it is around 6 seconds). After that the screen goes black for a few seconds and then you can see the bike strobe flash about 8 times. Apologize for the video, not my forte for sure.

Thanks for the review. I would have purchased this if it didn’t have the tail switch. Still a nice looking light.

How’s the tint? Give em props on the ramping!

Thanks for the review. Lack of strobe stops me from buying (I have 2 of the excellent TK15S).

It has a bike strobe

orange peel reflector, so good combo of throw and flood. Got the following from another’s in depth review:

Color Temperature: 5350-5500K

being a NW guy, I like the tint. White hot spot in center with yellow tint as spill widens.

The more I play with this light, the more I like this UI. Great job ThorFire! Forgot to mention it has momentary also.

Thanks for the review. Look forward to seeing the video. I’d be interested in how the biking mode looks as well.

the bike strobe is very nice
