I’m disapointed with thrunite, not about quality but their lights is boring as hell

They project a light with almost the same cooling capacity of tn36 and put more lumens in it? 80s of turbo? 3000lm continuous light?

Fairly obvious they didn’t put much effort or thought into this light, rather pitiful actually and ugly would be an understatement, looks like nothing but spare parts and maybe a slightly modded driver … ? I’ll be passing,
During my quick glance I didn’t notice the battery pack but that would be definite deal KILLER for a fact, never will I buy any light that uses a battery pack.

exactly, i feel design team really doesnt bother, almost all their lights i feel nothing that attracts me to a buy even, there are much better lights both design wise and spec wise…

hard to believe that light costs almost 300$ but looks like its a budget light 50$ max…. :person_facepalming:

I started this thread slightly frustrated. When I saw the email notification I had high hopes that Thrunite would have come up with something competitive, maybe harking back to their TN4A/Archer/TN36 days, but alas, it was not the case at all.

Thrunite make absolutely solid flashlights but there has been no innovation from them in years. It does feel like they have given up.

The light looks soda can style. Wonder it compares with Imalent, Acebeam, Olight, etc…. and other high output lights with proprietor battery packs.

I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I like the looks of this light. I don’t see anything ugly about it. It looks kinda streamlined to me, for a semi-large light anyway….

I wish Selfbuilt was still reviewing flashlights. The last major big-ticket ThruNite model that he reviewed was the TN42. In my opinion, this TN50 is the first major big-ticket ThruNite model since the TN42. I highly value Selfbuilt’s reviews. In fact, all my past ThruNite purchases was after seeing Selfbuilt’s videos and studying his measurements.

This is a strange choice of optics though:

Lots of unused frontal surface, LEDs very close together, so big cut offs for each reflector, giving 4 huge petals in the beam, no doubt…

Hi B67, I purchased this ThruNite TN50 in the Cool White. Tint should theoretically have a tiny bit of green. However, to me there is no green tint. The beam pattern is excellent. There is practically no overlap, and also there is no donut hole. It lights up everything like no other flooder I have ever used. It is definitely a step above the TN36! My initial impression is that it’s as good as it gets. Its beam pattern is better than a full-functioning Imalent DX80, which means much, because burn-out defect aside, the DX80’s beam pattern had previously been my favorite, until this ThruNite TN50. You can’t beat the 4X21700 design of this ThruNite TN50. It’s the baseline going forward. ThruNite did it. They beat everyone else to the future of flashlights.

I got it with the pre-order discount from ThruNite Direct, but that might be over now. I think there is still a regular coupon discount of 5%.

Nice light, neither beautiful nor ugly - it is somehow “in between”. I guess they could’ve put more effort into the design on this one.
But it is good to see a multi-cell 21700 light, although battery packs are always something that doesn’t sound budget-friendly.

Just got it Today, seems nice so far…a hint of greenishnessssss in the low mode, but really not bad at all.
