New turn-key light, how long till you take it apart?

So you’ve just got a new turn-key light (and not one you bought as a host), I’m talking an off the shelf light (even if that shelf belongs to one of our modders) that comes out of the box ready to run and exactly what you want. How long till you tear it down just to find out what’s inside?

For me, in soon as I can figure out how. I haven’t bought many turn-key lights in the last year, actually just two- an olight S15 for my wife and a fenix e12 for me, and I think it took me 3 days to tear the s15 down (I had the body duracoated pink and gave it to her for Xmas). I’ve had the E12 since Monday and have yet to take it apart (but then again I am in the middle of 4 other builds- a pair of S6’s, a SRK for my buddy and a WF-008 “recoil thrower” I’m waiting on the SST-50 for so that’s probably the only thing saving the E12 from molestation).

Once again I’m not talking about complete lights you buy to strip and use as a host for a build, I’m talking strictly a ready to run light you buy for what it is.

Once I receive the light and test it I start poking around. I don’t completely dissemble my lights though. I don’t have any modding skills.

I did but a couple of light with intention of gifting them. Those I left alone. I just made sure they work.

lol… usually it takes about 5 mins after I got it in my hand… and somehow I managed to destroy 2 perfect working lights in order to achieve extra oomph :Sp

5 min if its lucky.
I sometimes have to remember to turn things on & try them out a bit before tearing into them.

Nothing is exactly perfect to me. I always see improvements that could have been made to the design.
