New version Fenix TK35 U2 for about $85

A couple places have new version of the TK35 (860 lumens) for around $85 which is the best price I’ve seen for the new version. I believe that Amazon had the old version on sale for $70 and that was just for a day.

B&H has the new version for $85.75 with free shipping to the contiguous 48 states. But charges $9.95 shipping for AK & HI:

Fuddlebucks has it on ebay, buy it now, for $84.48 with free shipping to all 50 states. This is where I ordered it from since I’m in AK and wasn’t willing to pay shipping and since they had 99.9% positive feedback and were located in the US:

I think the TK35 is a great flashlight. I tried it out with 4 CR123A Surefire batteries. Shipping was prompt, it arrived in a priority mail envelope and included tracking. The USPS managed to lose it for a few days and a corner of the display box inside was slightly torn and had small creases because it was shipped in a flat cardboard USPS Flat Rate Mailing Envelope rather than a box inside a box. But the display box still arrived in resale quality condition and the Fenix display box itself does an excellent job of protecting the contents. Since the flashlight was for me, not for a gift, it didn’t matter anyway.

So all of the upgrade is the emitter is U2 in place of a T6? 860lm vs 820lm? The difference in output is negligible, hardly visible from real placing side-by-side, and cannot think one can see the difference in real world outdoor use.

Maybe the tint. I hope they have choosen a nice neutral white, but I would be scared to receive a green instead...

What tint is the one you received?

The new version also has over discharge protection and a slightly better grip. Mine doesn’t have any green tint but it could still be luck of the draw like the older model. I can’t say from my own knowledge where it is in the spectrum but the U2 is supposed to be from 5000 to 8300 kelvin, like the old T6 - not a neutral white. Looking at it on a white ceiling it looks like there is a slight violet tint in the flood away from the central bright white center. There is a good discussion of the differences on this thread:
