New way to measure tailcap Amps on C8?

Would it be beneficial to get one of these pressure switches and then cut the wires off and solder them onto DMM leads to get a more realistic real-world measurement of tail cap draw?

This one is for a C8 but would fir others as well.
Just seems like a better way than trying to press the leads onto part of the body tube and battery.

Also, I got another DMM which I think is better than the ones I have been using today and it seems to read lower amp readings than the other one.
Do the cheaper gauge leads give higher or lower readings?

Thanks
