Does anybody have an estimate of how many lumens we are looking at with the SST-40 at 7.2 amps? This thing should be really bright for a single emitter, right?

If i check the SSt-40 test from Djozz Luminus SST-40, a N4 BA bin tested we can expect something arround 2200 lumen 7A.
I can not say what the final numbers are. When they tested they eliminated some resistance in comparison to a assembled light (no switch, no springs and no electrical contact points like tube to tailcap. . . .)
Also i have no idea about flux bin of the 5700K SST-40. They are relativly new. Until now you only could get the colder 6500K and above.

The thread title is “what would you like to see”, right? I would like to see a very dark brown anodisation colour. Like my old Shadow tc500. Or a nice thick matt black so that I can bake it to dark brown myself.

They started with the production of the tailcaps. Here a very short clip from some tailcaps fresh out of the machine.

Hope to get also some shots from the machining (before and after. . . ).
Also waiting for infos about the available colors.

Nice to see some production vid’s. I tried that for the Q8 when it first came out but as Thorfire was not the manufacturer themselves, I never got much of that.

They will sell them on their Aliexpress shop (https://www.aliexpress.com/store/4498067). At the moment there is no Group Buy. But i will try to get a good price for us.
We will have to wait a bit longer. Driver for mass production is not ordered yet (they want to wait untill Lexels had the chance to check the prototype). Also the springs for production have not arrived.
And there is no final price at the moment because they do not know how much they will have to scrap during production.
They have changed a lot of things and had to buy some new tooling to get it done. But they have no experiance with this new toolings.
When i get a price or release date i will update the first post with more infos.

So the color will be black (they also are testing with some other colors but for the first run they will use black).
I was asked if we prefer a mat black or a shiny black?

And i asked if it would be possible to get a few lights without anodization (i want one without it so i can polish the light much easier). If they make it possible they will not put them on Aliexpress this way. This would be a onetime thing for only a few lights. So if you are interested let me know. So they are able to set them asside.

Their 1st gen gray color was actually pretty nice. I think I like it better than the newer FW3A gray. The FireFlies E07 had a really nice dark gray too.

However, cant really go wrong with a good matte black.

Put me down for a no-anno or clear anno if they make it available. (RIP lockout, but you do what you gotta do for a unique light
