Can anyone tell me, are these the same flashlights ,the reason I ask is the Nightmaster 800 here in the UK is really overpriced, then I found the Nightmaster V2 on a German website at a very good price
Also on the website it says it uses a Cree XR-ER RZ900 is this a misprint :quest:

UK dealer had idea and wrote NM800 (it should stand for 800 meters probably)
No it is not misprint… And XRE EZ900 is still one of the brightest and most efficient domed emitter… Probably only old XPC could throw win it…
Today I compared Domed XP-E2 driven at 2,8A and domed XRE EZ 900 at 1,5A…
Guess who throws further… XRE EZ900!!! 80/95KCD on my light meter
So damn! It is still good and efficient emitter…
But when you take dome off things drastically change… XP-E2 boost more than 300(edit it boost 200) in candela/lux while XRE EZ 900 only 30%. Probably XP-E2 has brighter phosphor layer “under the hood”.

I recommend EZ 900 for NightmasterV2 because it is very efficient emitter and you will have plenty of hours until battery dies and 100KCD should be enough for normal people…
But if you are not “normal” there are tons of other options for this flashlight like:
IR Illuminator
Green led
Red led
Yellow led
Blue led
Ultraviolet led
Xsearcher giant head for monster throw
multimode/single mode drivers
etc
With de domed XP-E2 and XP-G2 this turns into throw monster capable of out throwing 5× bigger reflector light…
But don’t expect efficiency with such drivers… You will have only short bursts of candela/lux and very hot flashlight in a hand…
And this is not budget light so probably no place for it on BLF that why no answer here? Maybe you could ask this on CPF?
