[NLD] Wurkkos Wk03

Received a new Wk03 Gold, shown in stock form:

I rebought this after converting one to Red 660nm, that I gifted to an Astronomy buff.

I plan to put a 660nm red in this one too, but wanted to share info about the stock package first…

The light has built in USB charging, and uses a throwy Tir. The UI is very simple, with last mode memory… clic on, hold to change output, clic off.

Loosening the tailcap will lock out the light. Package includes a magnetic tailcap option.

The switch button lights up for 5 seconds when first turning on the light. Green when battery is charged, or Red when voltage goes below 3.7V

Simple UI, inexpensive price, compact size. imo qualifies as a Granny light, and also suitable for Off Leash Dog Walking.

This is not an Anduril light, and it does use PWM that is not visible due to the very fast 41kHz frequency :

UI is very good and simple.
Hold from off goes to moonlight, hold again cycles modes, double click for Turbo.
Triple click from off or on activates Strobe, one hold to return to prev memory mode.
Favorite computer desk light for something dropped on floor.

Thanks for the graphs!

It’s a great light for a turn-key operator (like me!). Funny you posted your comments today because I had just pulled mine off the shelf to rotate into household duty. Excellent beam profile, CRI (stock), and I really enjoy the gold ano. Kudos to Taschenlampen for inspiring this model.

I like your red 660nm mod. Very cool.

Agree!

I consider it a Granny Light… easy UI with mode memory, the button light reminds when to recharge, physical lockout

Zeroair has a fact filled review… here are his charts I refer to the most, Runtime is unregulated, driver powers the LED with PWM pulses, CRI is excellent, thanks to the 519a 5000K LED.

Re driver differences
here is the zeroair review of the FC11C, it has a more efficient Buck driver w regulated output (note flat runtime curve), constant power to the LED (NoPWM), and the LED is also the excellent Nichia 519a.

The FC11C form factor is longer. I like the Body Proportions of the Gold Wk03 better… there are always pros and cons to consider… LOL…

I just put some #2 Boaz Diffuser on my Gold WK03 this morning, and it made the beam so much better. It was ringy before as seen in your first picture.

another beam diffusion option is a 20mm XP Tir I like the 30° option to keep some forward throw, or 45° for a wider beam for close range.

this is a 45°:
