No more BLF for me...

My browser is no longer supported.
Browsing on the phone sucks balls.
My PC is not capable to run supported browser nor OS and I’m not going to change it just for one website.

Could you describe what happens when you try to load the page?

Thanks, but that’s unfortunate…

It is. Unfortunately I don’t have any control over it.

I would be surprised if your computer was actually incapable of running a more modern OS, which in turn would enable running a modern browser. I understand that there are a million edge cases and user preferences and esoteric PC hardware that may force somebody to stick with an old unsupported OS, but it very well might be possible to upgrade in your case. As mentioned in the other thread, BLF may be the first website to stop working on your browser and OS, but it probably won’t be the last.

As a possible stop-gap measure you also might want to look at these:

I’m not sure if Discourse/BLF will support them but I suspect they will work, possibly requiring a user-agent switch.

Using an XP machine connected to the internet sounds scary.

It’s of utmost importance to use a browser (and a OS) that still receives security updates in a timely fashion.
If a modern browser doesn’t work on your machine (how is that even possible with Linux distros running on 20+ years old tech?) it is time to save up and upgrade.

I just use the Supermium browser. My credit card company just did the same thing to me, so I use it for that too.

OP doesn’t say what OS or PC hardware is used. I’d be extraordinarily surprised if one of the lightweight Linux distros like antiX can’t run on OP’s PC hardware.

what stonage computer does OP have ?

What computer/operating system are you running @sp5it?

2500k@4.5GHz, 64GB Ram, plenty of storage.
Outdated system? Only BLF does not work. All banks, government systems I use are working as a charm.
I’m good with 7.

Yes, that’s very outdated.

Windows offered free upgrade to Win10 and Win11 with your Win7 license key until two years ago.

Win10 keys still work on Win11.
Given the fact that Win7 is introduced in 2009 and ended 2015, and we are living in 2026 now that means your operating system is hopeless outdated.

Your hardware still works fine though, Maybe switch to Linux?

Just install Win 11. There a many, many tutorials for that online. (Yes, I know TPM and other stuff is officially needed, but there are workarounds around this. Or just install Linux distro)

I still used Windows XP up until 2022 on my logging laptop from 2006 until I retired I for a more modern laptop (from 2011).

I have a gen1 I7 (older than yours) running W11 perfectly.

Of course not my only machine but there are many many ways to install W11 on unsupported hardware.

I’m on lunix ubuntu right now, using chrome, it seem to work fine with blf and pretty much everything else I visit, never had any site reject me for “noncompliance” my laptop is from 2018
