Damn that looks nice!
Cncman, that looks like a great setup. I know the struggle, I was a renter for years!
If you want some inspiration Google image search Adam savages tool carts / boxes, especially the stuff he built for his time at ILS. Theyāre VERY IMPRESSIVE!
I bought a CDā¦
I havenāt heard of that CD before. Is Lane Staley on it?
Itās released just last week, so unfortunately no Layne.
I thought it might have been unreleased material when Layne was still alive. He was Alice N Chains as far as Iām concerned.
I compare it to the Stones replacing Mick Jagger, or the Beatles replacing John and Paul. It just canāt work
Yep, hIKARInoob and atbglenn, I like āRoosterā and āMan in the boxā. I know the feeling all to well, back in 1977 when āRonnie Van Zantā, āSteve Gainesā, and āCassie Gainesā, of the ā Lynyrd Skynyrd ā band were killed in a plane crash, it was very depressing, my most Loved Favorite Band was gone. I love music and in a variety of types, āAlice in Chainsā was another favorite.
To āLayne Staleyā Died from a broken Heart, but never Forgotten.
USB C hub
A small refrigerator for my garage. Itās basically a backup just in case the main one craps out.
I will have this Honda Generator by September 14th.
Nice Generator Glenn!
I ordered some new 18650ās from a new store, 18650batterystore.com. I got Samsung 25S 18650ās that are a pretty good match to the Sony VTC5A/5D at only $5.99 apiece. I got 8 of em and they were here in 3 days. Pretty cool!
Have a new Spinner out for delivery, a buddy sent it to meā¦ his just like this one is getting almost 10 minutes spin times. Also got my wife a new bath mat, she doesnāt know it yet, also out for delivery todayā¦. wife is from coastal Mississippi and misses the beach so I got a printed beach mat that has waves rolling in on the sand.
Thanks Dale! I already have a 4000 watt Harbor Fright generator, but itās not the inverter type. Itās not safe for electronics. The Honda will be used for my electronics, internet, etc. The Harbor Freight will be used to keep my heating, fridge and lights going in case of long-term power outages.
Iāve always understood the Honda Generator was among the best money could buy. I feel like youāll be very pleased with it.
Dale, my friends have the older 2000 watt version, and theyāre all more than happy with them. The extra 200 watts and updated features should make this new model a real winner.
Iām getting tired of carrying my āparachuteā backānāforth to work, etc., so wanted something smaller. Ordered a coupla these in black and OD. <10bux a pop, too!
Theyāre MOLLE-compatible, so Iām ordering all kindsa goodies to mixānāmatch (whatever I donāt already have).
Bottle-holder for a small Totesā¢ umbrella (or water-bottle, hey), already got my SP32Av2 in a tubelight holster attached, there are smaller bags like Iād belt-carry for my keys and other crap (aināt gonna load down my pants/shorts with 30lbs of crap, not even if theyāre cargo-pants/-shorts), phone-holders, all kinds of kewl stuuf.
Eg, hereās a nifty item for a phone, metrocard, etc.
which I wouldnāt put CCs or cash into, just stuff to take-with if you need quick access.
The rest, weāll see. Might be really nice, might be crap. Aināt spending wads on it. The nice thing is that with my huuuuuuge canvas backpack (that you could probably stuff 2 if not 3 babies into if you wanted to), āmessenger bagsā, other MOLLE-compatible stuff, theseāll all be interchangeable.
Donāt get me wrong, I really like my JanSport ā waterproof, guaranteed for life, great CS ā but itāsā¦ wellā¦ big. Like I said, even when itās almost empty, itās like carrying a parachute.

What are the dimensions of that Lightbringer? If you have them handy. Do you also have a link to them? That maybe just what I need depending on size. Bought a few off ebay but, itās so hard to imagine how big they are if they donāt supply dimensions. I have one thatās too small and one that you could hide a dead body in.
You have no idea how that drives me buggy. Looks nice, but if you get it it turns out to be half the size as expected. Or twice the size if you prefer it smaller (eg, for a phone, not a pie-plate).
Hang onā¦
Hereās the bag:
Roughly 12Ć9Ć2ā¦ which is not right. 12Ć9 sounds right, but it can stretch to at least 5ā or so in depth.
The top part of it, that runs along the top strap, actually has a pass-through into the main compartment, so you could stick a small tennis-racquet into it. Or maybe stick an mp3 player in it and run the earmuffs wire through there. Damned clever design, and pretty rugged.
I ordered one from this place, then two more. Black to match pretty much anything, OD for a nice dark-green jacket I got. Might get another in khaki to go with my duster, who knows. Iām thoroughly pleased with āem.
They might come with a bit of a musty stank to āem, though. Mine didnāt, but I still tossed āem in the washing-machine anyway. Came out perfect, no fraying, no wrinkling along the seams, nothing.
I got these from GB Ʀons ago, which are quite nice, too.

Can stick a phone in the front pouch, other stuff inside, pen in the sleeve for it, etc. Limited volume, though, else Iād keep carrying that. That also has MOLLE straps which I could use to attach this to the sling-bag. Right now, I keep my goodies in there, and keep that in my parachute.
Iām itching to see how the phone-things are. Havenāt taken the bus to/from work in ages, but when I do (forced downtime, get to read, do puzzles, etc.), Iād rather get a metrocard from an easily-accessible pocket vs grubbling through a huge bag, or my regular wallet, etc. Same thing with a phone, pen (to do said puzzles ), etc.
Iām more a vest guy. I can carry a lot in the many pockets. And then there is the expandable back pouch if needed, and many are vented for summer usage.

Thank your sir. That should be a good size for the things I carry around normally and a few things that I normally donāt because of pocket space. Never was a fan of things hanging off of my belt or britches so that will probably work perfectly. Think I will go for the black and OD as well. Thanks again.
I have (serious need of repair) a nice āarmy shirtā with a whole bunch of pockets, a safari jacket (same oodles of pockets), but I got sickānātired of emptying stuff out of one to put in the other, then when itād be too hot to wear pretty much anything beyond the minimum required to not get arrested, I took to bags/backpacks/etc. If I had a āfishing vestā or āphotographerās vestā, Iād never even get out of the house. Iād be too busy juggling things from one to the other.
Besides, Iām not gonna keep an umbrella with me in a vest or jacket. Yet in a backpack, itās there, out of the way ātil Iād need it.
And I used to carry more keys than the typical janitor, every frigginā lock I could ever think of opening, even emergency keys for sisās house, etc. Why, I have no idea. (Well, I guess if her house is on fire and sheās locked in, I could drive over there and let her out. Uhh, yah, right.) And Iām not the only one, as I know others who have similar key bundles that jingle so loudly, youād think Jacob Marley was out to get you.
So screw it, dump it all into a bag and be done with it.
Now at least a smaller volume would make it (almost) necessary for me to triage my goodies and pare down if possible.
