if it’s the sweet red one, Chashu, which is different than the braised Japanese Charsiu. Both names are phonetically interchangeable. If it’s the **crunchy skin one, it’s just roast pork, or in the philippines, lechon.

I quite enjoy Fishwife canned products, though pricey.

they might have them at costco as well

**I hate sichuan pepper cirns, but like their szechuan chili crisp.

Sounds interesting.
When I make a salmon salad, in addition to mayo (which I use a lot less than when making it with tuna), I add whole grain mustard, fresh lemon juice, chopped onion, chopped celery stalk, chopped hard boiled eggs, lots of chopped parsley leaves, some finely chopped serrano for heat, and some salt and pepper, and stick it in the fridge for 24 hours for all ingredients to “marinate”. Then I load it on a slice of sourdough or multigrain bread (not the fake supermarket bread) and sprinkle with some oregano flakes.

It’s an adaptation of the below recipe, but I use a lot more parsley and also add eggs:

Heh-heh, “fishwife”…

That’s what I call noisy pushy swamp-hags.

I grew up with analog tuning and loved it. These days feel it is frustrating to actually find specific frequencies.

Often I tune something on a radio with a digital tuner and match it with the analog radio. Just so I can find a specific signal.

They used to make analog tuners that were very accurate and precise with string and pulleys. It is a lost art.

But, I have read good things about the D219. I hope that you enjoy it.

good stuff, the mustard is definitely a good touch for its grainy light acidity **(maybe astringency would be a better descriptor)

Got tired of the finicky Micro USB ports of my PS4 controllers so ordered USB-C replacement boards. Easy swap. No soldering required. Only hard part was filing the opening to fit. All in all 10-15min job. Before the controller wouldn’t charge unless the cable was inserted at the right angle with no movement at all. I should have done this sooner.

Not my cleanest but it works

Nice mod!
I’m lucky because my PS4 controller Micro USB ports are not finicky. :man_shrugging:

I bought an 8TB HDD for backup, 2 years ago prices were slowly dropping but now it’s basically more than doubled in price and it’s not going get any better.

I also bought Flint 2 router. wifi 6, supports Openwrt right out of the box. can’t recommend this router enough.

2 Thanks

Yeah, I’ve been patiently waiting to buy WD Purple Pro for security cam storage, but prices have been nuts and I don’t see things getting better anytime soon. :frowning:

Flint 2 is a great router, and it supports Tomato as well, which I’m a big fan of.

Went on a bit of a buying spree for compact tools, picked up an Irwin 4WRC vice grips plier as I’ve had the Milwaukee long nose vice grips a couple of months now, they’re nice but I wanted a shorter set that’ll fit in a maxpedition style organiser.

Also received some Aliexpress specials:

  • “Lollypop” driver was about $5, is aluminium with nice agressive knurling and good enough magnet.

  • The 1/4 bit ratchet is “geinxurn” brand and has pass-through extension which allows the tool to be used as a t-handle.

  • The adapter/extension is an interesting design in that the black collar can be retracted to switch between a 1/4 hex bit and 1/4 sq driver.

Lastly, the Klein flip sockets are to live with my combi drill to save having to go and find the socket set each time I have a bolt to unscrew.

Wurkkos HD10 for scale, my most carried light at the moment.
