Noobie Question Incoming

Just got this S1 Olight baton and put an older CR123 battery in it.
Doesn’t seem near 500 lumens as stated. Tested the battery and it was
blowing 3.1 volts. Supposed to be 3.0 volts right? So my question is
what’s a fully charged cr123 supposed to show for volts?

An aside: first flashlight I ever saw where you put the + toward the rear.

A fully charged CR123 goes up to ~3.2V. But 3.1V is still a very healthy charge.

My S1 has nearly the same output for 16340 and CR123, but the power consumption is a different story. This is because the driver is a buck-boost hybrid, and the buck part being much more efficient. To me it does seem to put out 500 lumens, comparable to my zebralight SC52.

Thanks Will…thought maybe it was supposed to be 3.6 or the like.
Tried it for 10 mins, then checked volts, showed 2.8. So guess it’s going down quickly.
Just seems to be putting out around 200 L. Got fresh CR123’s coming soon in the mail.
Surely it’ll improve.

Ok, weird but now it’s working. I only had the two modes and the brightest must have been
80L. Now it’s doing the 3 modes and putting out what seems to be the correct 500L.
Yes, I know also the super low mode by clicking and holding from off; wasn’t counting that mode.
Ok, she’s working. Nice little pocket light.

OMG: I quickly drove to WalGreen to get ONE cr123 just to try out a really fresh battery…they wanted $13.99 for just one!!

That’s crazy, in my country they go for $8.99 and I can’t help but laugh when I see the price.

Ha! I can beat you both you can’t even buy the cr123 at any shop here you would need to go to a specialist battery store :stuck_out_tongue:

Just take a quick jaunt over to ChinaTown, Sydney. :sunglasses:
Might work. I walked your Chinatown and it seemed I was indeed in China. So
many red lanterns. Went to Alice Springs and had a beer - about $8 US. :person_facepalming:
