.
Requirements:
- Passionate about gear, primarily flashlights, knives, camping hiking and similar. Extensive knowledge is helpful but not required, only your eagerness to learn.
- Know how to film and edit video in an entertaining and educational way.
- Have fairly decent video equipment, “pro-sumer” level stuff. I use a Canon M50 and Rode microphone for indoor shots, and a Canon 5DII full frame for beam shots. Editing software.
- Minimum of 5 hours per week available to work, and live in the Continental USA.
Compensation:
-Cash: A payment of $250 per video for longer form content (about 10 minutes typical length). $50 per video for creating YouTube “Shorts” (about 1 minute)
-Ad Sharing: In addition, you will be paid a 75% share of the YouTube ad revenue generated by the videos you create that are uploaded to the Lumencraft Channel.
Gear: You will have the option of accepting gear as partial or complete payment in lieu of cash when available. The exchange rate would be 50% of MSRP. For example, if the retail value of a flashlight is $329.00, take that price divided by two, $329/2= $164.50. The remaining balance for payment of the video in cash $250$164.50= $85.50. Some gear will need to be retained by the company for future videos, so this is discretionary.
-Benefits: Jumping into an established Channel with over 68,000 subscribers, You get to share your opinions, passion and creativity with the world. Get paid from day one! No grinding away for thousands of hours for free starting from zero. Work from home.
The Job:
- To create engaging video content for YouTube, primarily based on use of high-powered flashlights. Making product reviews for flashlights and other outdoor equipment in an entertaining way.
-To create visually stunning, highly clickable thumbnails.
There will be a transition period during the job, with the goal of establishing you on the channel as a knowledgeable reviewer. In the early stages of your employment, the videos will be scripted by me and I will speak to the camera. You will be responsible for filming B roll of the product, taking beam shots and creating a thumbnail. During phase two, you will be seen and introduced to the channel subscribers (we can do this remotely, without actually being together). Phase thee you will become the second reviewer on the Lumencraft channel giving your own opinions and doing your own tests on the gear. Below is an example if the type of video you will be creating/editing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LStmsIyGldA
It is critical that you have the equipment and ability to film good beam shots. Your phone is not going to do it.
How to Apply:
The best way to show me you are right for the job is to send samples of videos you have created. A resume is great if you have one. If you don’t have content already available, make a short video 1-3 minutes to showcase your knowledge skill set.
Applications can be sent to matt@lumencraft.com If you are a flashlight forum member or currently a YouTuber please include your handle in addition to your Full name and location within the US. Please title the message video creator application.
