Objects Of Desire

After a sometimes tedious day I like to lay out a few things and diddle with them. I’ve gotten into metal puzzles lately. Knives, yoyo’s, spinning tops, flashlights, writing instruments, optical glass, puzzles, I like ’em all. None of it is high end, though it’s what I can afford. Little things to take my mind off bigger things.

Cool stuff fourbyfive. People need to have their toys!

I don’t spend much time on them nowadays but i like puzzles…

Does a rubik’s cube count as a puzzle ? if so I like puzzles =D

Fantastic!

I have experienced the same relaxation with my "treasure" but never made the connection as to exactly why until reading your insightful post which I enjoyed. Thanks for expressing it so well and making my day more thought provoking. Less can definitely be more with the right frame of mind.

I’ve got my GF for that.

Chris

fourbyfive, what knife is it?

does the weed grinder in the middle light up or something? :sunglasses:

Are those billetspin matrix tops?

Roostre, you’re welcome of course. Seems I’m still indulging fun distractions these days while still stuck at home. Sure would like to get back out there, safely. Who knows when though.

Sorry Agro. I wasn’t paying attention to the thread very well. It is a Rike Knife hummingbird I got on Massdrop. It’s the smallest damasteel knife I’ve ever seen…. and way too sharp for this country boy. Shave with that little thing.

bla2000 - I’m not sure about the model. I’ll look around for the box and get back to you with a PM. Rich Sadler is a skilled and creative machinist. He could build a pretty cool flashlight case if he put his mind to it. My wife got those Billetspins for me last Xmas. What a gal! They’re heavy beasts and I’m still trying to get decent spins. I don’t suppose that really matters. They are exceedingly well balanced and look good spinning.

How about a collaboration with Sadler and some of the top modifiers around here at BLF? It would be beautiful. Hmmm, a Billetspin flashlight. Just thinking out loud.
