Olight S Mini Turbo Timer Not Working

I’ve just received a new Olight S Mini, which is a very nice light - with just one oddity, when I change into turbo mode, I was expecting the light to ramp down after 1.5min, but this doesn’t seem to happen?

I don’t ‘feel’ like the light is just jumping to the 300 lumen mode, and skipping the 550 lumen mode - it seems that it just stays on 550 lumens until I intervene…during this time, the lamp body can get pretty warm.

Has anyone else run into this?

Hello, are you sure not step down?
The descent is not easy to appreciate, it is very progressive and slow during that time:

Really the light is slowly ramp down during 3 minutes since turn on.

The flashlight is very small. Even at 325 lumens it is normal to get quite warm … And the slow descent from 550 to 325, is not easy to appreciate with the naked eye, probably going well and you do not perceive it (it’s just a possibility).

Hi, That graph is really helpful. I didn’t appreciate that it’s a gradual step-down, and was expecting an obvious shift at exactly 1.5min. But I’ve just run the light for a full 5 min on turbo, and although my eyes can’t detect the shift, I suspect that you are right, and that everything is working fine - it’s just too difficult to detect the gradual change with the naked eye.
Thanks for the quick help

Enjoy with your Smini, my Smini Sus is one of my most used EDC.

and Welcome to the BLF

Thank you very much. I went for the Stainless Steel as well

I’ve only had it for a few hours but it’s as small as I hoped it would be. I really like the 3 and 9 minute timers on it too - that’ll be great for a nighttime timer. Obviously, I can’t say for certain, but I suspect that I will carry it, or at least have it close-by a lot…or until someone makes a smaller&brighter 16340 light  Still impressed by that graph - I’ll have to lurk around here a bit more and learn a few things.

Good choice, one of my all time favourites. Have fun with it!
