One led with less power... (King)

Salve ragazzi!

I try 2 and 3 cells configuration with my Sky King (because i don’t have 4 same cells)… And i noticed one led have less power than the others two! Is normal with only 2 or 3 cell? Or my King have a problem?

I hope you will help me as always with your kindness.

Grazie!

What batteries were you using?

The only time I can notice light difference on the king is when using the moonlight mode. And that's running on very low current.

Probably this emitter has significantly higher Vf.

Yes, but that's the point. Difference in brightness due to Vf can only be seen when running very low current - a.k.a moonlight. Anything over 100-200mA will pretty much blend the light brightness together already.

Can OP identify the difference in normal operation? If so, then something is probably wrong with the king.

reasons:

1. faulty emitter / wear out due to bad thermal path
2. Driver issue - SRK uses 3 separate buck drivers for each emitter. may be problem with current sense resistor/amplifier & associated electronics

to test, you have to check each emitter’s current draw

Yes i noticed the difference on hig mode…
With sunglasses, looking on the 3 led, one have a little less power…

And in comparison with my TrustFire Tr3t6 is less powerfull… alwais with the 3/2 Cells config.

For me is impossible to use 4 cells because here in italy 18650 are very rare. And for now I do not have.

I use in my King 3 18650NCR gray panasonic unprotected.

Different Vf would also affect brightness on high mode. It would be just more difficult to notice because of blinding amount of light.
