Only 2 LEDs Lighting on my DRY

As is said in the title, only 2 of the LEDs in my dry are lighting up. And the 2 that do light up are at a reduced brightness. And this was tested with fresh batteries and hooked directly up to a 12 volt power supply.

So do you guys have any idea what is wrong with it? Driver or LEDs?

If memory serves, the DRY has it’s LEDs hooked up in parallel.

Two likely possibilities.

1) Wire broke connecting up one of the LEDs
2) LED burned out/failed

The reduced brightness thing is a little weird though…

Ok, does anyone know how to dissasemble it to get to the LEDs? I got the bezel off but I can't figure out how to get past that.

Nope, just been sitting on a shelf.

Yes... The lens and bezel came out but the reflector is staying in.

Ah. Very bad. Wired in series. Driver is Fine. LED is dead.

Could be because the failed LED is a somewhat high resistance device. I’ll bet all will be back to normal once you replace the failed LED.

There is a screw, accessible from the rear, holding the reflector in-place.

Behind the driver I'm guessing?

Yessir. The LEDs are affixed to the head itself, making for a very good thermal pathway. If the adhesive fails, however, it won't take much to fry one.
