Organizing, Sorting, and Keeping Track of Flashlights/Parts

How do you guys do it? Seeing that I’m pretty new into the obsession, it seems like now is the time to start a great system to keep track of everything. I could see this being useful for maintaining lithium batteries, as well as keeping track of the parts I have and where they might end up.

These are good for emitters, drivers and similar small parts.

There are tons of organizers for larger parts everywhere.

And then I was afraid I would run out, so I went back and got some more.

This is crazy, but I like it :)

Good tips! I’ll definitely be investing in some of those divided plastic boxes for spare parts and batteries.

I was also thinking of some sort of asset management/tracking system, if you will. I’m currently trying to set up an access database to manage my lights. But I was wondering if anyone else has a different piece of software or a spreadsheet or something of the sort.

Organizing, sorting, strange words. What do these concepts mean?

Now that’s my kind of organizing and sorting.
I use a lot of Tupperware type klicklock plastic boxes, it’s trying to remember which bit is in which box that’s the problem, but without the occasional “so that’s where that went” where would the fun be?

My shoebox overfloweth…

As long as I can remember where I used it last, it’s organized.

i have a spreadsheet to keep track of literally EVERYTHING i own or have ever owned

its heading for 15 GB

jk, but its pretty big

I am new at collection parts and pieces of lights. But, being a hoarder, I have plenty of small storage devices. I like to use a tackle box. The kind that have a clear top so I can see in. They usually have a area that you can store extension tubes and longer batteries.
