btw, I want to warn everyone to be careful not to overtighten the screws when you install the pocket clip.
I had two reports of stripped screw holes on the previous group buy. One of them was mine, and it happened because I attempted to make the clip have a stronger bite… I bent it more, on purpose.
that was a bad idea… in order to get the screw in, I had to press on the clip that I overbent, and I ended up spinning the screw a few times, before it started to bite, thereby destroying the first few threads
before that, the screw holes were fine.
that clip is now attached with JB weld, note to self, dont expect to unscrew it
the other report was from someone that bought a resold RRT-01, in stock configuration, from the last group buy. The second buyer complained that the screw holes were stripped. (the lights arrive with the clip uninstalled, the second buyer installed the clip, and then complained). I believe the stripped screw holes were caused by overtightening during the installation of the clip…
the holes are in aluminium, the screws are steel, so yes, it IS possible to strip the threads if you overtighten.
do not copy my bad idea to bend the clip in a way that makes the clip holes not sit flush over the screw holes and then try to make the screw pull the clip flat…
I went back to a stock clip, not my overbent one, and it works perfectly well to retain the light… dont screw it up…
